The bindi is placed between the eyebrows, the place of the sixth chakra (the seat of concealed wisdom).The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration.

In India the “forehead dot” is called Bindi. In Egypt, it was called Aten, the sun symbol

The Egyptian “forehead dot” signifies the same Third Eye concept as the Hindu “forehead dot”

The Aten is thus a symbol of both the “Third Eye” and the “Soul Within”
